Terms of Service
What we promise, what we do not, and what happens if either of us wants to stop. Short, and in plain words.
Last updated September 9, 2026
01The agreement
These terms are between you — the business using CubeBooks — and iCubeLabs, of Laval, Québec, Canada. By creating an account or using the service you accept them. If you are accepting on behalf of a company, you are confirming you have the authority to do so.
02What you get
A licence to use CubeBooks for your own business while your subscription is current: the web application, the mobile apps, and the features included in the plan you are on.
The licence is yours alone. You may not resell the service, provide it to another business as your own, or use it to build a competing product.
03CubeBooks is not your accountant
This is the most important paragraph on this page. CubeBooks drafts bookkeeping entries, calculates tax figures and produces financial statements from what you give it. It is software, not a licensed professional, and nothing it produces is accounting, tax or legal advice.
You remain responsible for your books and for what you file. Automated entries are drafts until a person approves them, and we recommend a qualified accountant reviews your year end before it is filed. Where a figure is wrong because the data behind it was wrong, that is not something the software can catch for you.
04Your data stays yours
You own your books. We claim no ownership over anything you put into CubeBooks, and we use it only to run the service for you, as the Privacy Policy sets out.
You can export everything at any time from Settings, including after you cancel and before your data is deleted. We will not hold your records hostage to a bill.
You are responsible for having the right to upload what you upload — including any personal information about your customers, suppliers and staff.
05Payment, renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions are billed in advance, monthly or annually, and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices are in the currency shown at checkout and exclude any tax we are required to charge.
You can cancel at any time from Settings → Billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; we do not pro-rate part-periods. Subscriptions bought through the App Store or Google Play are cancelled through those stores and are subject to their refund rules rather than ours.
If we change our prices we will give you at least 30 days’ notice before the change applies to your renewal.
If a payment fails we will retry and tell you. If it stays unpaid we may suspend the account, but your data is kept and remains exportable for 30 days before deletion.
06Acceptable use
Do not use CubeBooks to:
- break the law, launder money, or misrepresent your financial position to anyone;
- send calls or messages that the recipient has not consented to, where consent is required;
- attack, overload, reverse-engineer or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service;
- upload malware, or content you have no right to upload.
The voice features are subject to telemarketing and call-recording law where you and the person you are calling are located. You are responsible for using them lawfully; we build in calling-hour limits and automated-assistant disclosure to help, but they are not a substitute for your own compliance.
07Availability
We aim for the service to be available whenever you need it and we publish our status. We do not promise uninterrupted service: maintenance happens, and so do failures at the providers we depend on.
We will give notice of planned maintenance where we can, and we will keep the status page current when we cannot.
08Limits on our liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before it arose.
We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — lost profits, lost data where you had the ability to export it, or penalties arising from a filing you made.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under Québec consumer protection law.
09Ending the agreement
You can stop using CubeBooks and close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, that is being used unlawfully, or that has gone unpaid — with notice, and with your data exportable, except where an immediate suspension is needed to protect the service or other customers.
10Changes to these terms
We will tell you in the app before a material change takes effect, and the date at the top will change. Continuing to use the service after that is acceptance. If you do not accept, cancel and export your data.
11Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of the judicial district of Laval have jurisdiction — without affecting any right you have to bring a claim where you live.
Questions about these terms go to legal@cubebooks.ai. iCubeLabs, Laval, Québec, Canada.
